Some notes we can add at the back of the book

C — The word “rat” has been transformed to “cat.” The picture tells a similar story.

D — The word “frog” has been transformed to “dog.”

G — The slug gulping its drink in this picture is a… glug. Try to find 2 other animals with transformed names that have not been labeled, elsewhere in the book.

H — Capybaras are South American rodents, related to guinea pigs but much bigger, growing to 170 pounds. They like to live near water and are very good swimmers.

Q — A quip is a small, clever joke.

S — The axolotl is a special kind of salamander, from Mexico. The fronds coming out of the sides of its head are external gills that allow it to live under water.

Z — The humuhumunukunukuapua’a, a kind of triggerfish, is the state fish of Hawaii. Its Hawaiian name means: fish with a snout like a pig.
